Mallik Wilks unavailable for Hull’s clash against his parent club Barnsley

Hull loanee Mallik Wilks will not be eligible to play against his parent club Barnsley when the sides meet on Wednesday.

Striker Tom Eaves was forced off during Saturday’s defeat at Preston with an ankle injury and is not expected to be involved.

Marcus Maddison should be back in contention for a place in the starting XI following illness as the Tigers look to end a run of eight league games without a win.

Forward Martin Samuelsen is expected to be available following his calf problem but Keane Lewis-Potter (hamstring) is doubtful again, while Eric Lichaj, Herbie Kane, Josh Bowler and January signing James Scott are all sidelined.

Barnsley could draft Marcel Ritzmaier back into the side as they continue their survival bid.

The Austrian midfielder has returned following a knee problem, coming off the bench for the closing stages of the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Goalkeeper Sami Radlinger is closing in on a return from a muscle problem which has ruled him out since the start of February.

Callum Styles continues his recovery from the ankle ligaments injury suffered earlier this month while defender Bambo Diaby remains suspended pending an investigation into a potential anti-doping issue.
