Ipswich have been rocked by an injury blow to James Norwood ahead of the game with Oxford.
The striker, who has scored 11 goals this season, will be out until April as he needs surgery on an adductor muscle injury.
He joins Kane Vincent-Young on the sidelines but the defender could be back next week after a groin problem.
Danny Rowe is still absent with a knee problem but Teddy Bishop could be ready to return after a similar injury.
Oxford will welcome back Alex Gorrin.
The midfielder has served a two-match ban and will return to boost a depleted squad.
John Mousinho is the latest man to go down, with the defender facing two months on the sidelines with a knee problem.
Liam Kelly will not be considered despite recovering from a nerve issue as boss Karl Robinson believes he needs a dedicated fitness programme.
