Sam Finley scores last-gasp winner as Accrington edge seven-goal thriller

Sam Finley scored an injury-time winner in a seven-goal thriller as Accrington secured a 4-3 victory over Lincoln.

The Imps took the lead in the 30th minute when a corner was flicked on by Harry Anderson and fell to Anthony Scully who turned and fired home from six yards.

Stanley equalised six minutes later when Jordan Clark raced into the area and crossed the ball, with Jason Shackell turning it into his own net.

The Reds then had a great chance to take the lead three minutes after the break when Shackell was adjudged to have fouled Benny Ashley-Seal in the six-yard box but Dion Charles’ penalty was saved by Josh Vickers.

Substitute Aaron Lewis had only been on the pitch for three minutes when, in the 53rd minute, Neal Eardley’s ball in was pushed out by Joe Bursik but only to Lewis who headed home to put Lincoln ahead again.

However, Joe Pritchard came on in the 68th minute for Stanley and two minutes later he rifled home a wonder goal from 25 yards to level the scores.

In an end-to-end game, the Imps regained the lead in the 76th minute when Jorge Grant’s corner was headed home by Shackell.

However it only lasted two minutes after Clark did the hard work and fed the ball to Seamus Conneely who rifled home.

There was 10 minutes of added time due to injuries and, in the fifth minute of injury time, sub Finley got the ball and fired home the winner.
