Mansfield will assess Joe Riley ahead of their Sky Bet League Two game with Newport.
Riley came off at half-time of Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Leyton Orient after feeling an old muscle injury tighten up.
James Clarke replaced the right-back at the break at Brisbane Road and will again be on standby.
Alex MacDonald (hamstring), Hayden White (knock) and Kellan Gordon (back) have all been struggling with injuries.
Newport’s injury crisis worsened as Dan Leadbitter was the latest player to go down.
The right-back was replaced at half-time during the midweek draw with Walsall and he could be out for the season.
It leaves Exiles boss Mike Flynn without any cover at full-back and searching for a free agent.
Mark O’Brien, Ashley Baker, Ryan Haynes, George Nurse, Josh Sheehan, Matty Dolan and Nick Townsend are all injured.
