Doyle on target as leaders Swindon defeat Exeter

Eoin Doyle marked his Swindon return with a goal as the Sky Bet League Two leaders beat Exeter 2-1 at the County Ground.
A cagey opening period had its first breakthrough after 20 minutes when Michael Doughty’s corner was diverted in, with Doyle credited with getting the final touch.
The home fans were silenced 14 minutes later when Randell Williams seized on a defensive error before slotting in to make it 1-1 from just inside the box.
Hallam Hope restored Swindon’s lead just before half-time by heading in Diallang Jaiyesimi’s cross from the right side of the box for his second goal in three games since his January move from Carlisle.
Hope had earlier seen an effort kept out by a fine save but he would not be denied the winner.
Exeter rarely caused Steven Benda much bother, illustrated by Brennan Dickinson firing over a free-kick midway through the second half.
