The Hammers finally landed the Hull forward, 23, on a 5½-year deal after winning the race ahead of four rivals — as SunSport told you yesterday.

Bowen, who has 16 Championship goals this term, is in line to follow in the footsteps of Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott and Tim Cahill in lower-league players Moyes has brought to the top flight.
The Scot, who saw off bids from Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Leicester, said: “I signed Baines, Jagielka and Lescott.
They all took six months before they were ready for the first team. The one who was ready was Tim Cahill.
"Often they take time to get used to the speed. Everybody hopes you’re ready right away.
"I hope I don’t have to wait six months to get the best out of him. But he fits the bill in terms of what we’re trying to change.
"I want people with a future who have a chance of improving at West Ham.”
The Hammers announced Bowen’s signing with less than half an hour left before the 11pm deadline.
