AC MILAN are set to sign Antonee Robinson and let him swap a Championship struggle for a shot at Serie A.

The remarkable on-off deal for the 22-year-old left-back is finally set to go ahead for £10million.

And that provides a bumper profit for the Latics, who only forked out a third of that sum in the summer for the USA international.

Both clubs have been locked in talks for weeks.

Now Robinson is set to fly to Italy to complete the formalities after they eventually thrashed out the numbers.

It is an astonishing turn around for the former Everton reserve who was scouted by Milan in recent matches.

The money will also help Wigan fund some late business in the market as they fight to beat the drop.

Meanwhile, the Italian giants have already made room in their squad for his arrival.

Fellow full-back Ricardo Rodriguez has departed the San Siro for PSV.

A statement on the Dutch club’s website confirmed his signing tonight.

It read:”PSV have strengthened their squad by completing the signing of the experienced full left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

"On Thursday evening, the 27-year-old, who has won 71 caps for Switzerland, put pen to paper on a loan deal that will keep him at PSV until the end of the season.”
