Northampton boss Keith Curle could hand a debut to new signing Mark Marshall as the Cobblers return to Sky Bet League Two action against Scunthorpe on Tuesday.
Marshall signed for the club on Saturday, the day after a goalless draw with Derby in the FA Cup fourth round, on an initial contract until the end of the season.
The former Gillingham winger will hope to feature against Scunthorpe, but Scott Wharton remains suspended following his red card at Leyton Orient last week.
Harry Smith (ankle) and Shaun McWilliams (knee) are the other absentees while Alan McCormack is close to a return following weeks on the sidelines.
Scunthorpe will have goalkeeper Ian Lawlor available after he signed from Doncaster on a loan deal until the end of the season on Monday.
He joined on the same day veteran forward Jamie Ward departed the Iron following the conclusion of his short-term deal.
Jordan Gabriel made his debut in the 2-2 draw with Crewe, but boss Paul Hurst is without a number of defenders.
Jordan Clarke (calf), Kgosi Ntlhe (tendonitis) and Rory McArdle (hamstring) remain unavailable alongside Regan Slater (ankle) and Lee Novak (suspension).
