Hartlepool took advantage of Rhys Murphy’s dismissal to take a point in a 2-2 draw at Yeovil.
Matt Worthington poked home the opening goal for the Glovers after good work from Murphy in the 23rd minute, but Pools were level shortly afterwards when full-back Peter Kioso powered in a header.
Charlie Lee restored Yeovil’s lead four minutes before the break, thumping the ball home after pinball in the penalty area.
Hartlepool should have levelled early in the second half, with Gavan Holohan and then Mark Shelton going agonisingly close.
Yeovil were reduced to 10 men in the 54th minute, with Murphy seeing red for an off-the-ball incident involving Myles Anderson.
That gave Hartlepool the impetus and they levelled 12 minutes later when Gus Mafuta headed home a Nicky Featherstone cross.
Pools full-back Mark Kitching was denied a winner at the death as goalkeeper Ted Cann produced a superb point-blank save.
