NO NO BRUNO Bruno Fernandes’ Man Utd transfer ‘at risk’ with Old Trafford club ‘refusing to pay £55m up front’

The Daily Mail cite Portuguese journalist Rui Pedro Braz, who claims Sporting Lisbon are demanding a £55million up front fee for the midfielder.

But United are willing only to pay £42m - and the £13m disparity is reportedly putting the protracted move "at risk".

Braz is a journalist for Portuguese television channel TVI 24 and is credited with giving day-by-day updates on the nature of the talks between the two sides.

According to him, Sporting are insisting on a guaranteed fee of £55m plus bonuses.

He claims United - who were reportedly looking to have Fernandes watch United against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday - are unwilling to meet that cost.

Braz goes onto add that United have offered 25-year-old Fernandes massive bonuses.

But Sporting feel these are unrealistic, especially as they are believed to include him getting a bonus for winning the Ballon d'Or.

Another two bonuses are for winning the Premier League as well as the Champions League.

United last won the Premier League in 2013 and are competing in the Europa League this season.

The claims from Braz could be met with some suspicion especially as Fernandes' arrival has seemed all but certain.

Sporting were reported to have found his replacement in Slovan Bratislava star Andraz Sporar.

Fernandes was set to be paid less than United stars Nemanja Matic and Fred despite looking like being their star acquisition in this window.

United fans went into a spin after Fernandes posted a cryptic tweet appearing to hint at his future.

Sporting's game against Benfica on Friday - a Lisbon derby - has been touted as his last for the club, with his £60m move to be done by the end of the week.
