Yoan Zouma doubtful for Bolton against Portsmouth

Bolton boss Clint Hill looks set to be without defender Yoan Zouma for Saturday’s Sky Bet League One visit of Portsmouth to the University of Bolton Stadium.

The French 21-year-old sustained a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s 5-1 defeat at Lincoln and is now highly doubtful to face Pompey.

Hill at least has Jason Lowe available again as the midfielder has completed a three-match ban following his red card in the draw at home to Shrewsbury on December 29.

Midfielder James Weir is again doubtful with a knock that has forced him to miss the last two matches.

Defender Jack Whatmough is pushing for a recall after coming through 90 minutes of Pompey’s Central League Cup clash with Plymouth on Tuesday to end a year on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Winger Ryan Williams is fit again after overcoming a groin problem, while striker Brett Pitman is also available after missing the last two games through illness.

Rangers loanee Ross McCrorie looks set to miss a further two matches with a hamstring injury, while full-back Lee Brown (Achilles) and midfielder Bryn Morris (groin) remain sidelined,

John Marquis is pushing hard for a first league start in five games after coming off the bench to score the winner against AFC Wimbledon, his third goal in as many games.
