Jerry Yates and Kaiyne Woolery are set to spearhead the Swindon attack against Crewe after Eoin Doyle’s return to parent club Bradford.
Doyle scored 23 goals in the first half of the season to fire Swindon to the top of Sky Bet League Two.
Swindon have defensive problems with Zeki Fryers (groin) joining Dion Conroy, Ellis Iandolo and Mathieu Baudry on the casualty list.
Tom Broadbent has fully recovered from the double whammy of a calf issue and illness, but Keshi Anderson faces six weeks out and Jordan Lyden starts a three-match ban.
Crewe boss David Artell has reported no fresh injury problems after a demanding festive and new year programme which saw the Railwaymen play five games in 14 days.
Eddie Nolan (back) and Lewis Reilly (knee) remain out and former Swindon defender Olly Lancashire (Achilles) has been sidelined for nearly three months.
Veteran striker Chris Porter (hamstring) is close to a first-team return but might not be risked at the County Ground.
Third-placed Crewe are six points adrift of Swindon with two games in hand.
