ARSENAL could replace Granit Xhaka with Adrien Rabiot after Juventus set a ï¿¡25million asking price, according to reports.

Former Gunners skipper Xhaka, 27, is set to join Hertha Berlin on loan after falling out with fans and being stripped of the captaincy.

And Mikel Arteta may have a ready-made replacement in Rabiot as Sport Mediaset claim Juve are prepared to sell this month if their demands are met.

Everton are also keen on the Frenchman, who Carlo Ancelotti worked with at Paris Saint-Germain.

Rabiot, 24, joined the Old Lady on a free this summer after his PSG deal ran out but has struggled to force his way into a star-studded midfield.

With Arsenal just six points clear of the relegation zone after a run of one win in 15 games, Arteta needs a win over Manchester United tonight.

But the Arsenal boss faces a defensive crisis, with Calum Chambers joining Sokratis, Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac on the sidelines.

The Gunners are struggling to attract top-tier talent due to a lack of Champions League football and are unlikely to qualify via the top-four this season.

Arteta can get his side back in the competition by winning the Europa League which will be a focus this season.

But star goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is potentially heading towards a summer exit as speculation mounts over his future.
