LEICESTER have entered the race for ï¿¡34million rated defender Daniele Rugani at Juventus.

And it could bring even more pain for Arsenal, who have chased the centre-half since the summer.

Despite the impressive form of Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on adding some more strength in depth.

Veteran Wes Morgan is the only cover for the two regulars.

And with Rugani well down the pecking order at Juventus, according to The Telegraph, the Italian giants are "bracing themselves" for a January bid.

He is behind the likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral in the Juve pecking order.

But he has still picked up four Serie A titles along the way.

ARSENAL WANT NDIDI

Arsenal tried to sign the Italian defender, 25, on a two-year loan deal in the summer following his impressive spell of form.

But Juventus swiftly rejected the north London club's best offer.

And of course new boss Mikel Arteta is in desperate need for defensive reinforcements.

Arsenal and Leicester could be involved in another transfer battle - with it being reported that the Gunners want Wilfred Ndidi and will offer Granit Xhaka and ï¿¡40m for him.

Xhaka, 27, told Arsenal fans to "f*** off" after being booed against Crystal Palace earlier this season and has been tipped to leave ever since after being stripped of the captaincy.

Arteta knows if the North Londoners are to improve they need to show a little more grit and determination across the pitch.

And the Spaniard is looking to start by adding to his midfield, with Leicester star Ndidi.

The Nigerian, 23, has been a key factor in Brendan Rodgers' Foxes storming to second in the Premier League this term.
