Mbappe puts pressure on PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are eager to extend Kylian Mbappe's contract, which ends in 2022, but the player has shown no intention of putting pen to paper for the time being.

The Frenchman is the most sought-after player in Europe, with several elite clubs, including Real Madrid, determined to sign him if they ever get the opportunity.

However, PSG are not keen to enter into negotiations about their franchise player with any team next summer.

The French side are having a rough time managing Mbappe's huge ambition and, although he is one of the most talented forwards worldwide, his attitude in the last two games has puzzled the club.

Against Nantes and Montpellier, the 20-year-old reacted badly to Thomas Tuchel's decisions to replace him before the end of the games.

His gestures were a clear message to both his coach and the board, who have guaranteed the player both a winning project and a superstar status in the team.

A huge factor in his future will be the team's run in the Champions League, as Mbappe wants to ensure that he is at a club that could make him a Ballon d'Or contender in the near future.

PSG understand that he is not the boy who turned down Real Madrid to grow in the French capital a couple of years ago.

He is widely considered as a world-class player and those close to him are looking out for him as if he is one.

New sporting director Leonardo has made it clear that there has been contact with Mbappe to renew his contract, with Le Parisien reporting a proposal of 25 million euros net per season for him to commit until 2025.

For the time being, the Qatari owners are not willing to give the thumbs up for his departure, especially with Neymar's situation remaining delicate.
