Partick Thistle move off the foot of the table with win at Queen of the South

Queen of the South let a first-half lead slip as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Scottish Championship strugglers Partick Thistle.
Connor Murray opened the scoring for the hosts when collecting a ball from forward Gary Oliver and striking it past Thistle’s Jamie Sneddon.
The first half was then interrupted as Darren Lyon lay motionless on the pitch after receiving a blow to the head.
The midfielder did eventually stir but was carried off on a stretcher and replaced by Lewis Kidd.
The Doonhammers’ advantage lasted until the 70th minute when Thistle’s Joe Cardle claimed an equaliser by tapping in a fumble from keeper Robby McCrorie.
The visitors sealed the win as Reece Cole’s late effort from distance deceived McCrorie.
