Elliott Frear still absent for Forest Green against Scunthorpe

Elliott Frear is closing on on a Forest Green return but will miss the visit of Scunthorpe.

The winger has returned to training having missed the last month with a pinched nerve but Saturday’s clash is likely to come too soon.

Boss Mark Cooper has no new injury concerns following last weekend’s 2-2 FA Cup draw with Carlisle.

Matt Mills will return to the squad but Dayle Grubb (thigh) and George Williams (broken leg) remain sidelined.

Regan Slater and Jordan Hallam are Scunthorpe’s only absentees.

Sheffield United loanee Slater has been absent since the start of November with an ankle injury,

Hallam has sat out the last month with a hamstring problem having taken longer than expected to recover.

Junior Brown (thigh), Levi Sutton (broken finger), Yann Songo’o (dislocated toe) and Jamie Ward (hamstring) could return.
