'See you soon in Italy' - Ibrahimovic teases Serie A move

The Swedish star looks set for a return to a country where he has played for both AC Milan and Inter in the past

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has all but confirmed his next playing stint will take him back to Italy's Serie A.

The 38-year-old has been a free agent since calling time on his stay with MLS side LA Galaxy, with a number of clubs scrambling for the veteran striker's services.

Italian clubs have shown the most interest with AC Milan and Napoli both strongly linked, and Ibrahimovic has now suggested the Serie A will be his next stop.

"I will join a club that must get back to winning, that has to renew its history and is in search of a battle against everyone and everything," Ibrahimovic told GQ Italia.

"That is the only way I'll be able to find the necessary motivation to surprise you again. It's not just about choosing a team, as there are other factors that need to line up, including in the interests of my family.

"I'll see you in Italy soon."

Ibrahimovic has previously played for both Inter and AC Milan, winning the Serie A title four times across stints with both clubs

AC Milan's club director Frederic Massara stressed early this week that Ibrahimovic hadn't entered into negotiations with the club, despite reports to the contrary.

"There is no news on Ibrahimovic, because this is not a negotiation," he told Sky Sport Italia. "He is evaluating his future. He is on the market, but there are no developments."

Napoli have also shown interest in the Swedish star and are boosted by his relationship with coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The manager said last month he intended to call Ibrahimovic to gauge his interest in a move to Naples after he had hinted a transfer did hold some attraction.

"I'll call him tonight and say we're waiting!" Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.

"I have a great deal of affection for him, I saw he scored 29 goals in 30 MLS games. Tomorrow, after I've called him, I'll let you know how it went!"

Ibrahimovic has made headlines off the pitch over the past week after becoming part owner of Swedish club Hammarby.

The decision infuriated Malmo supporters, who vandalised his statue in response.
