CHELSEA star Willian has been offered to Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, it has been claimed.

The 31-year-old is in the final year of his current deal at Stamford Bridge and becomes a free agent in July - with Barcelona said to be interested.

But reports have emerged in Spain to suggest someone in the player's camp is hawking him round clubs to see if there would be an interest in signing him.

Website Defensa Central has claimed one such call was made to Real Madrid to enquire if they were open to the Brazilian moving there on a free transfer.

But they report that the proposal was rejected by Zinedine Zidane because the player does not fit into his plans for the future.

Despite the attraction of signing someone of Willian's quality without a fee, Zidane has other players in his mind to play out wide in his side.

Real have started courting Kylian Mbappe, believing the brilliant forward is open to leaving Paris Saint-Germain after two years at the club.

Mbappe's mother is understood to have told the Spanish club that her son will not sign the extended contract PSG are offering, in the hope of forcing a move to the Bernabeu.

And England star Jadon Sancho is another who has caught their eye after the amazing impact he has made in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea are playing a waiting game in terms of deciding what they will do with Willian - who has been a consistent performer over the six years he has been at the club.

But with the likes of Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and even Mason Mount operating in similar positions, boss Frank Lampard may decide the time is right to look to the future and let the Barizl star leave.
