Rochdale manager Brian Barry-Murphy was pleased to still be in the FA Cup draw after a 0-0 stalemate at Wrexham.
The Red Dragons had the better chances and the visitors were almost beaten when Akil Wright hit the post late on but neither side could find the goal to avoid a replay.
“It felt like it was a proper cup tie at a ground where we have seen plenty of them before and we are delighted to still be in the draw,” he said.
“We got exactly what we thought we would get and for large parts of the game we had to defend resolutely.
“I thought the opposition were entitled to play well and did play well. They gave us loads of problems, but we had chances of our own and phases of the game where we were good.”
Meanwhile Wrexham boss Dean Keates was left ruing his side’s missed opportunities.
“We are disappointed that we have not got the victory and just our own name in the hat,” he said.
“We created chances, made their goalkeeper work and had a couple of penalty shouts.
“We knew today was going to be a difficult game for us. It was totally different to what we normally face in our division.”
