Kevin Cawley heads winner as Alloa see off Dunfermline

Alloa climbed away from the foot of the Ladbrokes Championship with a 2-1 win over Dunfermline.
Both teams scored from penalties in the first half, Alan Trouten for Alloa after Lee Ashcroft fouled Kevin O’Hara, while Kevin Nisbet equalised for Dunfermline having been tripped by Kevin Cawley.
Ashcroft headed against the bar for Dunfermline but instead it was Alloa who re-took the lead when Cawley headed in Iain Flannigan’s cross at the far post to redeem his earlier error.
Greg Kiltie fired over from Dunfermline’s best chance for an equaliser, while Cawley could have extended the margin of victory with another effort that cleared the crossbar.
