Queen of the South picked up their first Ladbrokes Championship win in four games by beating Ayr 3-1 at Palmerston Park.
Kevin Holt opened the scoring for the hosts with a low shot after 18 minutes following a fine passing move involving Stephen Dobbie and Darren Lyon.
Ayr were not behind for long, though, as Michael Moffat fired home Craig Moore’s knockdown to equalise in the 38th minute.
The Doonhamers restored their lead midway through the second half courtesy of Connor Murray, who converted from 12 yards.
Gary Oliver then wrapped up the three points for Queen of the South by slotting home Scott Mercer’s cutback after 74 minutes.
Ayr’s misery was compounded moments later when Luke McCowan was sent off with 12 minutes remaining.
