Manchester United vs Brighton - United duo to be assessed ahead of Brighton clash
Posted Saturday, November 09, 2019 by PA
Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelof will be assessed ahead of Manchester United’s return to Premier League action against Brighton.
McTominay limped off with a foot complaint in the Europa League win against Partizan Belgrade but told the PA news agency he “should be fine”, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful Lindelof will overcome a knock that saw him miss Thursday’s match.
United captain Ashley Young is suspended, while Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Axel Tuanzebe are not expected back until after the international break.
Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes have missed recent matches. Long-term absentees Eric Bailly and Tim Fosu-Mensah remain unavailable.
Brighton’s Adam Webster has been ruled out of the trip to Old Trafford through injury.
The defender was substituted in the Seagulls’ win against Norwich last weekend after he suffered ankle ligament damage.
Bernardo and Jose Izquierdo remain sidelined by their respective knee injuries.
Manchester United provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Grant, Wan-Bissaka, Jones, Laird, Lindelof, Maguire, Rojo, Williams, Fred, Garner, McTominay, James, Lingard, Mata, Pereira, Chong, Greenwood, Martial, Rashford.
Brighton provisional squad: Ryan, Dunk, Montoya, Burn, Stephens, Gross, March, Propper, Maupay, Connolly, Button, Duffy, Bong, Bissouma, Trossard, Murray, Alzate.
