McPhee could start Naismith against St Mirren

Hearts interim manager Austin MacPhee could start Steven Naismith against St Mirren on Saturday after the forward impressed in training.

Naismith could be joined in the starting line-up by Jamie Walker, Jake Mulraney and Loic Damour who are all in contention to return.

Glenn Whelan (back), Craig Halkett (knee), John Souttar (ankle), Ben Garuccio (knee) and Conor Washington (hamstring) remain on the sidelines.

St Mirren’s Kyle McAllister misses out on the trip to Tynecastle.

The midfielder has a back complaint but boss Jim Goodwin otherwise has a fully fit squad.

Striker Cody Cooke played an hour for the reserves in midweek on his return from a long-term injury.

Provisional Hearts squad: Pereira, Smith, Hickey, Berra, Brandon, Dikamona, Irving, Bozanic, Clare, MacLean, Ikpeazu, Keena, Meshino, Morrison, Mulraney, Wighton, Walker, White, Naismith, Damour, Doyle.
