Chilwell could spell end for Alonso

According to the Daily Express, Chelsea have identified Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell as a key transfer target.

His arrival could force Marcos Alonso to leave Stamford Bridge, given it would likely leave him as third choice in the position with Emerson also ahead of him in Frank Lampard’s pecking order.

Alonso, 28, was hooked off at half-time in Chelsea’s 4-4 draw with Ajax on Wednesday night.

"There was a period when there was very strong negotiation from Liverpool for him to leave when he was still at the academy,” he told told ESPN Brasil.

"The amount was very low, but they wanted to go. The offer from Real later was around €30m more [laughs].”

Willy wants Spain move

Chelsea stopper Willy Caballero is not ready to retire or move back to Argentina.

But the goalkeeper wouldn't mind a return to La Liga.

"Returning to Argentina is not in my plans because I feel more like a European player. I came here [to Europe] very young and left the domestic league in my country at 22," he said.

"I would like to return to Spain. Elche or Malaga? Of course, but it's not just a case of what one desires, but that they want you and the circumstances are there.

"For the time being, I'm a Chelsea player and we shall see what happens in June. I'm 38 but I feel in good form and perfectly ready to continue to play at a good level for longer."

Ramsey wanted Arsenal stay

Aaron Ramsey wanted to stay at Arsenal before he left for Juventus.

The Welshman's deal expired, which saw the Turin outfit swoop in with a free transfer.

"We had an agreement and the club went back on that. I tried a long time to extend his contract."

Javier Ribalta, former chief scout at both Juventus and United, has backed the Frenchman to move on in an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

Out of the options, the Spaniard thinks Pogba returning to Juventus is the most likely.

"I would bet a pizza with a friend on Pogba’s return," he said.

"Without Champions [League], Paul is destined to leave Manchester United.”

Chelsea plan to offload OIivier Giroud and Pedro in the January transfer market.

The Blues are still facing a transfer ban at present.

But Frank Lampard still plans to sell Giroud and Pedro in the winter market, according to the Telegraph.

Xhaka out?

Granit Xhaka's time at Arsenal could be coming to an end.

The midfielder has been stripped of the captaincy following his dig at fans when being substituted against Crystal Palace.

The Times claim Xhaka is 'hurt' after having the armband taken from him.

And the player will apparently consider a move away if he continues to be snubbed by Unai Emery.

The German manager continues to be linked with the Old Trafford role, despite suggestions Bayern Munich wanted him as Niko Kovac's replacement.

Rangnick recently managed RB Leipzig and is currently Red Bull's head of sport and development, meaning he is responsible for overseeing the clubs owned by the brand.

But the Athletic claim the 61-year-old has been visited by a United representative, with the pair holding 'lengthy talks' over a potential appointment as a director of football.
