But the club’s horror show of a season looked far from his mind as he posed for pictures posted on Instagram with model girlfriend Alisha Hosannah, 27.
Alisha, made up as a Day of the Dead character, proudly wrote: “We threw a party . . . in case you can’t tell.”
Villager Lindsay Clements asked locals on Facebook after Saturday’s bash: “Did anyone else hear that party last night?” Karen Skillings replied: “You couldn’t help but hear it!”
Millie Dargan said: “It was the newbie in the village Troy Deeney.” And Trev Burnip wrote: “Don’t see what he’s got to celebrate about as Watford are going to get relegated.”
'LATE FIREWORKS'
Laura Jane White chipped in: “Our dog scrapped his bed last night at the late fireworks." Tracey Phillips said: “Heard music until 3.30am.”
Footage shows Deeney dancing and drinking as music blares out at the party in a marquee at his £1.5million home in Claverdon, Warwickshire. Caribbean chefs provided the food for around 100 guests.
Another neighbour, Neil Pearce, told those complaining: “It’s one night and if you weren’t moaning about that, it would have been fireworks from elsewhere. Welcome to Claverdon Troy.”

Deeney bought the property with ex-wife Stacey in 2016 but has just moved in after renovations. He split from his childhood sweetheart, with whom he has two kids, last year.
He was jailed for three months for affray in 2012 after kicking a student in the head.
Last month, he was fined £865 for driving a car with “dangerously” tinted windows.
