Stalemate for Scunthorpe and Stevenage

Scunthorpe and Stevenage both missed the opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and the League Two relegation zone in a goalless draw at the Sands Venue Stadium.
Chances were at a premium at both ends of the pitch, though the Iron had more attacking intent about them without being able to carve out much in the way of chances.
Kevin Van Veen tested visiting stopper Paul Farman from a free-kick in the 19th minute, while Charlie Carter was involved in Stevenage’s only two first-half openings, each time having efforts easily saved by Jake Eastwood.
The second period was equally quiet, with Kurtis Guthrie shooting into the side netting at one end while a cheeky chip from Ryan Colclough was pushed over the bar by a back-pedalling Farman at the other.
The best chance of the deadlock being broken came 11 minutes from the end, following good play out on the right by Stevenage’s Terence Vancooten.
His low ball into the box caught out Eastwood, but Kelland Watts fired over when he only had to hit the target.
