Manchester United are believed to be eyeing a transfer deal for Lautaro Martinez, but Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte doesn’t want distractions in his camp.

Antonio Conte has told Lautaro Martinez to concentrate on the present, before thinking about the future after attracting interest from a host of Europe’s elite.

The warning comes after reports in Spain claim Manchester United are interested in signing the Argentine.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to add a striker to his ranks and Martinez has been earmarked as one of the club’s top targets following a blistering start to the season in Italy.

Yet former Chelsea boss Conte has urged Martinez to focus on his development with Inter Milan and not to get distracted by speculation.

"I think it is important to look at the present to build the future,” Conte said ahead of the trip to Bologna on Saturday.

“He is working well and doing well. He has important room for improvement.

“He is just a 22-year-old boy and must continue like this, knowing that he can improve.

“As far as transfer rumours are concerned, there are a lot of them in the market every day.”

According to Mundo Deportivo, Martinez is being targeted by United for a potential January deal.

Barcelona are also looking at the forward but are now wary that they face competition from Manchester United.

The report claims Inter would only be willing to do business if their £95million valuation was met.

That figure would see them net more than quadruple the £22.5m fee they paid Racing Club to secure his services in July 2018.

The relationship between United and Inter is already full of respect following negotiations over Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez who both moved to the Italian giants in the summer.

Lukaku has already formed a formidable partnership with Martinez, while Sanchez also began to impress before his ankle ligament injury.

Martinez has struck seven times in 13 matches in all competitions this season to help erase all memory of former Nerazzurri hero Mauro Icardi, who is now on loan at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 22-year-old is developing a reputation as a big game player having scored in matches against Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus this season as Conte’s side bid to knock Juventus off their perch in Serie A.
