WOJCIECH SZCZESNY is in line for a bumper new contract which will keep him at Juventus for another five years.

The Polish keeper who was shipped out of Arsenal after they decided he was not good enough has made a major impact since moving to Serie A.

The 29-year-old did so well during a a two-year loan  spell with Roma from 2015 that Juve decided to snap him out when he became a free agent in 2017.

The Italian champions turned to Szczesny to take over as the club's number one keeper when Gianluigi Buffon left the club.

And even though the club legend has returned to Turin this season, Szczesny has been the first choice between the posts.

That has convinced Juve they should tie the ex-Gunners stopper down to a new long-term contract, according to reports in Italy.

The Gazetta dello Sport say talks have taken place on a deal which will run until 2024, taking in the peak years of his career.

Such a lengthy contract is a clear indication Juventus feel secure with Szczesny as their number one for years to come.

It will be a massive vindication of the keeper's belief in his own ability given some of the doubts he faced during his time at the Emirates.

Former boss Arsene Wenger lost faith in Szczesny to the extent he went out and signed veteran Petr Cech from Chelsea, effectively ending the Pole's career in North London.
