Stefan Payne suspended for Tranmere’s game with Doncaster

Tranmere forward Stefan Payne will sit out Saturday’s Sky Bet League One home clash with Doncaster due to suspension.
Payne must serve a one-game ban having collected his fifth yellow card of the season in the 5-0 loss at Sunderland on Tuesday.
Corey Blackett-Taylor missed that game after coming off in the 1-1 draw against Southend four days earlier, while fellow midfielder Darren Potter was absent for a second successive match.
Micky Mellon’s team are 20th in the table, a point above the relegation zone.
Doncaster boss Darren Moore, whose side are sixth, has said he expects Jon Taylor to be fit for the contest at Prenton Park.
The forward was on the end of the challenges that landed Southend’s Ethan Hamilton and Stephen McLaughlin red cards in the 7-1 win at Roots Hall on Tuesday and has been “a little bit sore”, Moore said.
The game is set to come too soon for Kazaiah Sterling, who has been nursing a thigh problem and not played since September 7.
Cameron John (ankle), Matty Blair (groin) and Alex Baptiste (Achilles) remain sidelined.
