Thomas training hard before Railwaymen clash

Carlisle striker Nathan Thomas will hope to prove his fitness for the Sky Bet League Two visit of Crewe on Saturday.

The Sheffield United loanee was forced to miss last week’s defeat at Newport through illness.

Midfielder Stefan Scougall is nearing a return after an ankle injury and Canice Carroll is eyeing a recall but former Braintree player Mo Sagaf could keep his place after impressing in recent games.

Midfielder Kelvin Etuhu remains on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Crewe are without goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen, who is on international duty with Finland Under-21s.

Number two Dave Richards is set to continue after taking over for Tuesday’s Trophy tie at Mansfield.

Captain Perry Ng returns to league action after missing last week’s 1-1 draw with Exeter through suspension.

Manager Dave Artell is likely to return to a more familiar line-up after making eight changes in midweek.
