Colchester came from behind to beat bottom club Stevenage 3-1 and extend their unbeaten Sky Bet League Two run to four matches.
Stevenage went close early on through Ben Kennedy’s 40-yard effort before the visitors took a 17th-minute lead when Jason Cowley’s shot from the edge of the area deflected off Luke Prosser and wrong-footed keeper Dean Gerken before flying in.
Frank Nouble missed a gilt-edged chance for the hosts when he was denied by keeper Paul Farman, who also foiled Luke Norris before the break.
Colchester eventually equalised in the 48th minute through Tom Eastman who nodded in firmly at the far post from Theo Robinson’s cross, after Stevenage had failed to properly clear Cohen Bramall’s free-kick.
Norris’ free-kick smacked a post before Colchester took an 82nd-minute lead through Nouble, who converted a penalty after being brought down by Farman in the area.
And the U’s sealed victory a minute later when Kwame Poku tapped home from two yards after Nouble had done brilliantly in the area to set him up.
