Luke Matheson could keep Rochdale place after impressive Old Trafford outing

Rochdale boss Brian Barry-Murphy must decide whether to give teenager Luke Matheson another chance to impress in the Sky Bet League One match against Wycombe.

The 16-year-old right-back scored a memorable goal in the Carabao Cup third-round tie at Manchester United, but could be rested to the bench.

Veteran forward Aaron Wilbraham is pushing for a start having recovered from a calf problem and coming on as a late substitute on Wednesday night for his first appearance of the season.

Centre-back Eoghan O’Connell is being assessed after he missed the short trip to Old Trafford through injury, as did Ryan McLaughlin (heel), while on-loan Blackburn defender Tyler Magloire (groin) remains sidelined.

Wycombe will be without suspended midfielder Nathan Ofobor.

The Bournemouth loanee was shown a straight red card during the 1-0 win against Portsmouth last weekend, so starts a three-match ban.

On-loan Newcastle forward Rolando Aarons is being monitored on the rib problem which has sidelined him for the last three games.

Paul Smyth (foot) and forward Alex Samuel (hip) both continue their own recoveries.
