MANCHESTER UNITED will reportedly turn to Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele in January to solve their goal crisis.

Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer flogged misfits Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan this summer, but failed to bring in a replacement.

But with Marcus Rashford out with a groin injury and Anthony Martial sidelined, the manager has come under fire for having a lack of options leading the line.

And according to The Independent United chiefs will launch a winter transfer bid for Dembele, who has only two appearances this season after suffering a hamstring injury.

A source quoted the Frenchman is “under consideration” but is believed to cost around ï¿¡100million.

It is understood the 22-year-old became unsettled in the summer after Nou Camp chiefs wanted to use him in a transfer deal to re-sign Neymar from PSG.

And despite Philippe Coutinho departing Barca for Bayern Munich on loan this summer, Dembele’s French team-mate Antoine Griezmann was brought in as further competition.

Is is also thought United are considering a move for 33-year-old Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

After a meeting with United vice-chairman Ed Woodward Solskjaer raised concerns about his squad depth.

They could revisit the transfer of Mandzukic, after deciding against signing the Croatian in the summer.

The striker’s age was a deciding factor, after Juventus offered United a player plus cash deal for Lukaku.

But Mandzukic is out of favour in Turin this summer, having not made a single appearance under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
