Emmanuel Osadebe forces draw for Macclesfield

Emmanuel Osadebe was Macclesfield’s hero as they held high-flying Newport to a deserved 1-1 draw at Moss Rose.
Midfielder Osadebe netted a 19th-minute equaliser against his former club as the hardworking Silkmen made sure of a welcome point against the Exiles.
Striker Padraig Amond gave the visitors the perfect start when he tucked home after only 59 seconds from Robbie Willmont’s pinpoint corner.
It was the former Grimsby and Hartlepool forward’s fourth league goal and third in five league games.
But former Tottenham youngster Osadebe, who made three loan appearances for Newport, levelled with a deft lob. It was his first goal for over a month.
And it was Macc who were the better of the two sides and who looked most likely to win.
Newport goalkeeper Tom King was forced into making a series of top saves to keep the home side at bay.
King denied Jay Harris, Corey O’Keefe and Osadebe with smart stops, and twice thwarted Connor Kirby as well.
But the visitors went close to snatching victory when Tristan Abrahams unleased a left-footed thunderbolt in the latter stages.
