Courtois and Hazard swapped Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu in consecutive summers with Los Blancos linked with a move for Kante in 2020.

The Belgian star joined Real in 2018 for £38million, with Hazard completing his £150m move earlier this year.

With Real Madrid struggling mightily to recreate their top form last season - finishing 19 points behind La Liga champions Barcelona and losing to Ajax in the last-16 of the Champions League, Zidane is overseeing a major overhaul.

The Spanish giants spent big this summer to bring in the likes of Hazard, Ferland Mendy, Luka Jovic, Rodrygo and Eder Militao.

Despite that, Zidane has been continually linked with France star Kante since the European window closed on September 2 ahead of a potential 2020 move.

2020 VISION

In fact, some reports even claim Real have an "agreement" in place with the Blues for a move next summer.

Amidst the rumours, Kante revealed he is "happy" at Chelsea - but flattered to be links with Real Madrid.

Kante said: "It's rewarding to be wanted by big clubs, when coaches want you in their project it's nice.

"But I'm happy with my choices and feel good at Chelsea. I'm planning for the next season at Chelsea."

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is unlikely to want to lose Kante - arguably the best defensive midfielder on the planet.

But with youngsters like Mason Mount shining, Ruben Loftus-Cheek to return soon and Jorginho on the books, the Blues chief could cash-in on his star man amidst his recent spate of injuries.

Chelsea beat Wolves 5-2 in Saturday's goal fest, with the West Londoners' last 11 goals all scored by English players aged 21 or under.

Tammy Abraham netted a superb hat-trick, Fikayo Tomori scored a 35-yard screamer and Mount provided the cherry on top in the 96th minute at Molineux.
