Ipswich and Doncaster remain unbeaten after Portman Road stalemate

Ipswich and Doncaster kept their unbeaten starts to the League One season intact as they fought out a 0-0 draw at Portman Road.
But the visitors will be the more disappointed side as they should have been at least two goals to the good in the first half as they dominated proceedings.
They also had further chances in the second half, which included Ben Sheaf’s strike hitting the post.
Myles Kenlock’s misplaced pass to Rovers’ striker Niall Ennis nearly led to the visitors taking the lead.
Then, following a break and cross by Ennis, Ipswich goalkeeper Tomas Holy denied Jon Taylor from a gilt-edged chance.
Town forward James Norwood found himself clear on goal in the 65th minute with just goalkeeper Ian Lawlor to beat, but he was unable to take advantage, and a long-range shot from Kane Vincent-Young led to Rovers keeper Ian Lawlor scrambling across his goal.
Both sides then had opportunities to snatch the points late on, with Sheaf hitting the post in the 79th minute before Lawlor bought off a great save to deny Norwood a match-winning goal for Ipswich in stoppage time.
