Holroyd at the double as Chorley down Stockport

Chris Holroyd’s first-half double set Chorley on the way to a 3-0 win at home to Stockport in the National League.
The striker put the Magpies into a sixth-minute lead when he was gifted possession by the visitors in the final third and kept his composure from 10 yards.
His second owed a lot to the brilliant one-two between Matt Challoner and Alex Newby, the latter feeding Holroyd for an easy close-range opening.
Stockport lifted their game after the interval, but they could not convert their half chances and Elliot Osborne headed just wide.
Substitute Elliot Newby helped Chorley to their first win of the season, picking up Marcus Carver’s knockdown to snaffle a third in injury time.
