JACK CORK has reignited Burnley’s simmering feud with Liverpool by accusing the Reds of dirty tricks.

The midfielder says Jurgen Klopp’s men, along with the rest of the Premier League’s top teams, regularly commit cynical fouls — but escape any action as they are committed away from dangerous areas.

Cork, preparing for tonight’s visit of Klopp and his league leaders, said: “If you look at Liverpool, Man City, all the top teams who are on the front foot pressing, as soon as they lose the ball high up the pitch, someone makes a foul so they can’t get countered.

“It doesn’t necessarily get highlighted because they have a lot of the ball but it’s part of their game.

“It’s their style of play as well — they’re aggressive, on the front foot, but just in different areas.

“I think we are a team that also has to be on the front foot and on it all the time — otherwise it won’t go our way and we won’t get the results we want.”

Cork hit back after Klopp’s bitter rant following the Reds’ 3-1 win at Turf Moor last season.

The Liverpool boss tore into the Clarets after Joe Gomez suffered a broken leg in a challenge with Burnley skipper Ben Mee, saying some of their sliding tackles were like “ten-pin bowling”.

Cork added: “Against teams like Liverpool, we have to be aggressive.

“Not going round hitting or smashing into people but we need to win our duels so they know they’re in for a tough day.”

Klopp insisted there was no ill-feeling with him and Clarets boss Sean Dyche.

The German said: “We are proper competitors and it was respectful.

“Turf Moor is a tough place to go, we’re not planning a holiday there.
