Rochdale defender Luke Matheson could be rested for the Carabao Cup visit of Carlisle.
The 16-year-old has started Dale’s last two league matches.
On-loan Huddersfield forward Rekeil Pyke, a half-time substitute in Saturday’s goalless draw with Blackpool after two matches out with injury, could get a start.
Rob Sanchez could be given a rest after a man-of-the-match performance against the Seasiders, with new goalkeeper Jay Lynch having made his first appearance in the squad at the weekend.
Carlisle boss Steven Pressley is optimistic left-back Jack Iredale will be available.
The 23-year-old was forced off late on in the 2-2 draw with Salford but Pressley believes it was just fatigue.
Midfielder Harry McKirdy could get a recall after being dropped at the weekend while Ryan Loft may come in for Hallam Hope up front.
On-loan Brentford midfielder Canice Carroll, an unused substitute against Salford after returning from suspension, could also get a run out.
