Newport snatched a 1-0 victory over Crewe thanks to a last-gasp winner from Padraig Amond.
The Exiles striker side-footed the ball into the back of the net in the third minute of added time to knock Crewe off top spot.
The only shot on target of the first period came with the last kick of the half when Crewe winger Charlie Kirk cut in and stung the palms of Newport goalkeeper Tom King with a low drive.
Flynn’s side started the second half well but faded with the sun beating down.
Crewe almost took advantage when Perry Ng whipped in a cross for Kirk at the back post but Newport goalkeeper King got down to his left to push the danger away.
King was called into action to tip a Tom Lowery shot around the post as the clock ticked into the final 10 minutes, but Newport struck at the death.
Tristan Abrahams pounced on a loose touch in the Crewe defence and surged towards goal before laying the ball off for Amond to calmly score the winner.
