Paul Lambert knows Ipswich are the team to beat in League One

Ipswich boss Paul Lambert says his side relish their reputation as the team to beat in League One after they snatched a 2-2 draw at Peterborough.

Lambert’s side sealed a share of the spoils thanks to Luke Chambers’ last-minute header.

That preserved Town’s unbeaten run since suffering relegation from the second tier last term.

Lambert said: “Because of the size of our club, we have a massive target on our back and you could see that today.

“I’d rather have that than not have it – it’s brilliant. We had some good moments and some not so good moments.

“There were a lot of good things to take and we’re still unbeaten in three games.

“I always think big players produce in certain moments and it was a great header from Luke to get us the point.”

The Tractor Boys were quick out of the blocks and were celebrating a lead as early as the fourth minute.

James Norwood was on hand to easily tap in after home goalkeeper Christy Pym spilled the ball into his path.

It was a first goal for Norwood since his move from Tranmere in the summer.

Posh rallied from conceding early on and just before the half-hour mark they were on level terms.

Marcus Maddison clipped a precise ball into the box and striker Ivan Toney nodded home past goalkeeper Tomas Holy – his second of the campaign.

Posh went close before the break with Maddison almost catching out Holy but the Czech did just enough to keep it out.

The hosts piled on more pressure after the restart and they completed the turnaround in the 62nd minute when Mo Eisa opened his Posh account, pouncing on a defensive mistake and poking the ball beyond Holy.

Ipswich then wasted a golden chance to restore parity when Pym kept out Norwood’s penalty after Kayden Jackson was felled in the area.

But just when it looked as though Posh would seal the points, up popped Chambers with a priceless header to ensure the spoils were shared.

Lambert refused to criticise Norwood, who missed from the spot.

“I think if we scored that penalty then there’s only one winner,” said the Scot. “But these things happen.

“James will score goals because he’s a fabulous player. His goal today was great.”

Peterborough are still without a win this season.

Manager Darren Ferguson said: “Given the performance we gave we deserved to win the match, but we cannot keep giving the opposition goals.

“We showed tremendous character when we went 1-0 down, we reacted very well. The boys came through with flying colours.

“I know Ipswich missed a penalty, but I think we had two really good chances in that game; Ivan in the first half and Marcus in the second.”
