Bob McHugh scored a hat-trick as Morton got their Ladbrokes Championship campaign off and running with a 4-1 victory over Alloa.
The Ton lost their opening league game 4-2 against Ayr last weekend but bounced back to winning ways at Cappielow Park.
McHugh gave Morton the lead in the fifth minute after good work from Nicky Cadden before Kevin Cawley equalised for Alloa midway through the first half.
Morton restored their advantage after 53 minutes when McHugh set up Reece Lyon to finish off a fine counter-attack.
McHugh then added his second in the 61st minute when he nodded home Brian McLean’s header across goal.
Alloa’s task was made harder when Andy Graham was sent off for a second bookable offence and McHugh made them pay with his third goal 16 minutes from time.
