Martinez not leaving Atlanta - De Boer

Atlanta United coach Frank de Boer laughed off suggestions that the club is looking to offload struggling designated player Gonzalo "Pity" Martinez.

 The 26-year-old attacker made the jump to MLS in January but has struggled to find his top form with the defending MLS champion.

"It's ridiculous, you know," De Boer said in audio provided by the team.

"We're just halfway through the season and he's new. I always say the first six months is the hardest for everyone who comes to a new culture. He has to adapt."

Fiorentina interested in Benedetto and Tonali

Fiorentina's new look approach is starting to emrge with Dario Benedetto and Sandro Tonali transfer targets for the club, reports gianlucadimarzio.com.

The former has scored 39 goals in 63 games for Boca Juniors since joining in 2016, while 19-year-old Tonali is a target for a number of top clubs in Italy.

The midfielder made 34 appearances for Brescia in Serie B last season, scoring three goals as the club earned promotion to the top-flight.

Aston Villa turn attention to Heaton

Aston Villa have made a move for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton after being put off by Stoke City's valuation of Jack Butland, reports The Mirror.

The Potters are reportedly looking for £25 million ($31m) for Butland, and Villa have now turned their attention to 33-year-old Heaton, whom they have informed Burnley they are unwilling pay big money for.

The England international has one year left on his contract at Turf Moor and made 19 Premier League appearances last season.

Ancelotti says James move will take "time and patience"

Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti has told press that a move for James Rodriguez will be take "time and process", reports calciomercato.com.
