Neymar optimistic over Barcelona return

Every day that passes, Neymar's return to Barcelona seems less far-fetched. What until recently seemed crazy is beginning to take shape and the Blaugrana are trying to figure out how to convince Paris Saint-Germain that they should let the Brazilian superstar leave. Right now, it seems clear that any formula must include, in addition to money, a footballer who the French side may be interested in.

Meanwhile, Neymar waits as he tries to stay out of any drama and remaining cautious. A misplaced statement or misdemeanour could jeopardise the whole transfer, especially knowing PSG's history with matters like that. Therefore, he has opted to post videos on social media of himself working out with the surfer Gabriel Medina, making it clear that he will be in the best physical condition possible ahead of next season, wherever he is playing.

Neymar does, however, believe that his return to Barcelona is feasible. He is going to take the necessary steps to make things as easy as possible for the Blaugrana, and he has told a few of his former Barcelona teammates about his optimism regarding a potential move.

After everything that has happened over the last couple of years, the fact that Neymar himself does not view his return to the Camp Nou as impossible is eye-opening. He is the first to acknowledge that he did not leave the club on the best of terms and he realises that he will have to do a few things to make the transfer happen.

Barcelona's acknowledgement that this is going to be "the soap opera of the summer" is an indication of their goal to bring Neymar back to Catalonia, although they also recognise that it is going to be far from simple to do so.

That optimism, although taken with a pinch of salt, is the first step in inviting Neymar to dream that his return to Barcelona is possible. After all, he is the one who, more than anyone else, will have to do their all to make the transfer happen.
