Adrien Rabiot arrives in Turin as Juventus win race to sign PSG contract rebel

Juventus appear to have beaten Manchester United to the signing of Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot, 24, left PSG as his contract expired at the end of last season. He arrived in Turin on Sunday ahead of signing a four-year deal with the Italian Champions.

The Old Lady get their man: Five things to know…

· The young midfielder left the French capital following a disagreement over his contract.

· As a result, he became a free agent at the end of the season.

·He's been heavily linked with a move to England and especially Man Utd.

· The Frenchman will become Juventus' second free transfer this summer, following ex-Arsenal talisman Aaron Ramsey.

· United had hoped to pip the Italian champions to Rabiot's signature.

Juventus confirmed Rabiot's arrival earlier today on their official Twitter account, suggesting that the deal will be completed in a matter of days.

Rabiot makes his choice

It has been clear since Rabiot was banished to the PSG reserves in December that his future did not lie in the French capital: where it did lie, however, was unknown.

Last month, Rabiot was very public about his admiration for both Juventus and Man Utd.

He told Corriere dello Sport: "I've spoken with Juventus, it's a great club where everyone would like to play.

"I like Italy so much, it's wonderful here. A demanding season awaits me. At Juventus? Juve watched me and we talked about it, but I can't say anything.

"Manchester United? It's the same as last year, I have to decide. I'm on vacation for now. Soon you will know."

United have been active thus far in the transfer window, already completing the signing of Daniel James and full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The departure of Ander Herrera had left a hole to be filled in their midfield, but it appears they will have to look elsewhere as Rabiot's transfer to Juventus is expected to be announced imminently.

Rabiot is unlikely to be the last signing at Juventus this summer, as reports claim that Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt has identified the Old Lady as his ideal destination this window.
