El Mundo: Aranda's circle used drug money for betting

Raul Bravo and Carlos Aranda's crew are alleged to have used the illegal bets in Spanish football's match-fixing scandal as a means of laundering drug money.
The latest information gathered directly links Aranda with this particular crime as Aranda and those around him had a concerning history around them.
El Mundo have reported the findings as they've accessed the summary of the case so far.
"Belonging to a criminal organisation dedicated to match-fixing is not a main business," it reads.
"It could be considered as an investment for the money that comes from drug trafficking."
As a result, it's thought that the money used from the movement of drugs has been used to buy players and to place bets.
"Aranda orders one of his employees to make certain sports bets for a high amount," it's revealed in the summary.
"Bets are recorded in a register book and once these bets are won, the prize money is placed under the name of people within Aranda's environment, who then obtain the laundered money."
Operation Oikos is continuing to investigate match-fixing in Spanish football.
