CHELSEA will allow Maurizio Sarri to leave the club to take over as Juventus manager, according to reports.

The Italian, who recently hinted that he wanted to return to his homeland, has been linked with Juventus for weeks.

Sarri only joined Chelsea last summer after three years at Napoli and has been under pressure for most of the season.

That is despite leading the Blues to a third place finish in the Premier League and victory in the Europa League.

He also reached the Carabao Cup final, but lost that to Manchester City on penalties.

The Italian’s agent, Fali Ramadani, met with the Premier League club on Friday and came to an agreement with the Chelsea hierarchy that means Sarri is free to join Juventus.

The Italian champions have been on the hunt for a new boss since Massimiliano Allegri departed at the end of the season.

And according to the Guardian, Chelsea will allow Sarri to join Juventus next week and he will sign a three-year deal.

The 60-year-old has one year left on his contract but looks set to cut his stay at Stamford Bridge short.

The Old Lady have won Serie A for the last eight seasons but it is the Champions League that they really covet.

The news of Sarri’s departure, although long anticipated, came on the same day that Real Madrid announced the signing of Eden Hazard.

The Belgium international has finally got his wish and will move to the Bernabeu on a five-year deal for a fee that could eventually exceed £150m.

The 28-year-old scored 110 goals in 352 games for Chelsea after joining from Lille in 2012, and scored twice as they won the Europa League final last week.

He is set to be presented as a Real player on June 13.

Sarri leaving could open the door for Chelsea legend Frank Lampard to return to the club as boss.

Lampard has enjoyed a successful first season in management, guiding Derby County to the Championship play-off final.

The Blues’ all-time leading goalscorer has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge ever since Sarri’s position at the club was called into question.

Chelsea look set to have a transfer ban imposed on then and Lampard may be seen as the man that can bring together the club’s young talent next season.
