The England and Leicester midfielder is wanted by Manchester City, United, Liverpool and Tottenham.

Starsport can reveal all of them have enquired about Maddison and look set to do battle for his signature in the coming weeks.

He has been valued in the £60m bracket, although the Foxes are under no financial pressure to sell.

But if a ridiculous bid comes in, club bosses would be tempted to cash in on the 22-year-old, who has ambitions to join one of English football's elite clubs.

Maddison joined Leicester from Norwich 12 months ago in a £20m deal and penned a five-year contract worth around £50,000-a-week.

He made a stunning impact in his first season in the top flight, creating the most chances in the Premier League this season and earning his first England call-up.

Maddison, 22, was named in Gareth Southgate's squad in October for the UEFA Nations League clashes with Croatia and Spain.

He was hoping to be included in Southgate's plans for this week's semi-final against Holland in Guimaraes, and was left devastated when he wasn't picked.

It is understood United have been tracking Maddison for several months, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making him one of his main targets.

Solskjaer is overhauling his squad this summer following a woeful season and is keen to bring in fresh, homegrown talents like Maddison.

City boss Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, was left impressed by Maddison's performance against his side at the Etihad towards the end of the season.

Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino are also keen on him and Maddison could now find himself the subject of one of the biggest domestic transfer scrambles of the summer.

It remains to be seen where he ends up, but Maddison has made no secret of the fact he supported United growing up.

He idolised Cristiano Ronaldo and his dad has posted clips of his son on social media wearing a United strip when he was growing up.

Maddison said: "My idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. I always looked up to him because when I was younger I was more of a Manchester United fan.

"My first memory was them beating Bayern Munich and my dad running around the table with me."
