Old Trafford bosses are prepared to fork out €25m (£22m) for the Belgium international, according to DH.

Meunier, who has fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel, is eager to seal the switch to Manchester United.

The right-back has been targeted to replace Antonio Valencia following the 33-year-old’s release.

Meunier has one season left on his contract at PSG.

Arsenal have also reportedly been in talks with Arsenal over a switch.

He recently fuelled speculation over his future by suggesting he would be open to joining a new club.

"The club and management know, I would like to finish my contract at PSG or why not extend it,” Meunier said.

"If this is done, so much the better and if that is not done, we will see what is possible and we will go elsewhere.

"At the level of rumours, I am quoted everywhere. Only beautiful clubs come out: Manchester United, Juventus, (Borussia) Dortmund, these are just exceptional clubs.

"But that’s also the chance to evolve in a club like Paris Saint-Germain because, even with little play time, they offer you some visibility.

"We know that the PSG rarely invests on players who are not worth it in quotation marks.

"So I hope to find a nice base if PSG does not want to prolong the adventure.”

Meunier was a boyhood supporter of the Red Devils, admitting in 2017 that he always plays at the team on FIFA.

"Well with Paris [Saint Germain] to keep myself in check, but otherwise for Manchester…United,” he said.

"Yeah the real one [not City] because I’ve always been a fan of Manchester.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to revamp his squad following a dismal campaign that resulted in a sixth-place finish.

Swansea winger Daniel James is also on the club’s transfer radar.
